Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged that Kyiv does not have enough weapons to retake Crimea by force.

He stated this during a meeting with journalists in Kyiv, reports RIA Novosti.

"I agree with [US President Donald] Trump that Ukraine lacks weapons to return Crimea by military means," Zelensky noted.

On April 25, Donald Trump, in an interview with Time magazine, expressed the opinion that Crimea will remain part of Russia as part of a possible conflict settlement. According to him, the Ukrainian leader realizes this. He also added that the peninsula has long been part of Russia.

Earlier, Reuters agency reported that the peace settlement plan proposed by the United States involves legal recognition of Crimea and de facto recognition of four new regions as part of Russia.
