I dedicate my victory to the Azerbaijani people.

As Report informs, this was stated to journalists by Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Nihat Mammadli, who won a gold medal at the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.

The wrestler, who achieved success in the 60 kg weight category, said he was happy to win the European Championship gold medal for the second time:

"Thank God, I achieved my goal. Before the competition, I was focused on winning the gold medal. My opponent in the final was a very experienced athlete. Despite this, I was able to perform well and win. I hope I am destined to become a world champion."

It should be noted that Nihat Mammadli won the gold medal by defeating Georgiy Tibilov (Serbia) in the final. In the overall standings, the team, which finished the competition with 3 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals, took first place with 151 points.
