One of Bolt's records has been broken

South African runner Akani Simbine has surpassed Jamaican Usain Bolt's record for the number of seasons in which he ran 100 meters faster than ten seconds, reports Pulsesports.
At the Golden Grand Prix in Botswana, which took place on April 12, Simbine showed a result of 9.90 seconds. This season became the 11th for the Paris Olympics silver medalist in which he ran under ten seconds. World record holder Bolt has 10 such seasons to his credit.
31-year-old Simbine is a bronze medalist of the 2025 World Indoor Championships. 38-year-old Bolt has eight Olympic gold medals to his name, as well as three world records: 9.58 seconds in the 100m, 19.19 in the 200m, and 36.84 in the 4x100m relay as part of the Jamaican team.
At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued an appeal to international sports federations and recommended that they not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in any competitions. At the end of 2023, the organization decided to allow Russians and Belarusians to compete in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games as neutral athletes. In total, 15 people from Russia went to the Games in Paris.
